Conditions of Entry
- For humorous short stories (any theme) up to 2500 words.
- First prize: $200, second prize: $50.
- Third place, highly commended and commended certificates will be awarded too.
- You can enter as many times as you like.
- Each story must be written in English and be your own original work.
- Stories that have won a prize or certificate in previous Best of Times or Winter Surprise competitions are ineligible for entry.
- No entry form is required. Include a cover sheet with your name and address, story title and word count, and where you heard about the competition.
- Entry fee is $6 per story. Send a cheque or money order made out to Chris Broadribb.
- Post your entry to Chris Broadribb, PO Box 55, Blaxcell NSW 2142.
- Include a large SSAE so that your story can be returned afterwards, along with a results sheet.
- If you would like an electronic copy of the results then provide your email address.
- Winners will be notified during June 2012.
- Winning stories will be published on this website if the authors agree. They retain copyright and all rights to their work.

About the Organiser
- Chris Broadribb.
- A freelance writer who also does other work: proofreading, editing, tutoring, answering customer service phone calls and mystery shopping.
- She has an MA in Professional Writing and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism.
- She has published a number of articles and short stories, a children's book (Sarah's Adventure) and a novella (Nice Day for a Murder).
- She is a former computer programmer with a Bachelor of Science (computing) degree.
- She reads a lot.
